Top Tots Training was developed by Dr. Mark Stonkus as a fun, healthy, and structured way to support the physical, emotional, and psychological development of children. Scientific research reveals that early exposure to motor skill tasks leads to increased proficiency and expertise in performing those same skills later in life. In other words, the earlier an athlete can begin to train for the neuro-motor demands of sport, the better chance the athlete will have at becoming elite.
Our goal at Top Tots Training is not only to expose children to the motor-skill tasks of a variety of sports, but to also assist them in developing a healthy and confident self-image. While teaching your child to throw, catch, hit, balance, and react to sports such as basketball, lacrosse, baseball, golf, soccer, etc., we also train them to be patient, focused, and motivated to learn these new skills while developing the mental strength to defend against the potential frustration and discouragement that children often experience in practice. The recipe for motor-skill development is a simple combination of repetition and feedback. We provide both. Our coaches are all former athletes possessing the knowledge and expertise to ensure correct sport-related forms and techniques.
