The 6S Academy offers specialized educational, developmental, and performance programming for primary and secondary school students (elementary, middle, & high school). In recognizing the increasing limitations to traditional school settings, the Academy has been established to provide students with more of what they need, and less of what they don't.
In many cases, the need is for more flexibility in schedule to tend to students' interests, passions, and pursuits, which are inherently limited by traditional school options. In other cases, the needs are more developmental, and consist of personalized mental and physical support which is not often found in conventional school options.
Our curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities are derived from the 6S Institute for Brain & Body Development, and designed to either enhance existing scholastic experiences, or to formulate comprehensive alternatives to public and private school options. Examples of co-curricular programming themes and lessons include:
Strength: Mental Toughness, Confidence, Grit, Resilience, etc.
Stamina: Concentration, Determination, Attention/Focus, Persistence, etc.
Stability: Emotional Intelligence, Frustration Tolerance, Anger Management, etc.
Skill: Study Skills, Coping Skills, Test-Taking Strategies, Communication, etc.
Stress: Mindfulness, Anxiety Management, Relaxation, Growth Mindset, etc.
Status: Goal Setting, Motivation, Personal & Professional Ambition, etc.
The 6S Academy Full School Program is offered for those students who find traditional school options to be too limiting and/or problematic. For many students, the conventional schedule does not offer enough time and/or flexibility to pursue elite aspirations requiring flexible schedules. For others, a virtual school option provides relief from common difficulties experienced in schools (including school culture, social connection, physical/mental health needs, level of rigor, support limitations, and overall happiness).
The world of education has changed, and the traditional school model is no longer the only option for students. The world of performance has also changed, and the opportunities to pursue passions in extra-curricular endeavors have skyrocketed. These two worlds now collide for students who remain committed to their studies, but need a modified schedule in order to practice, train, and pursue their passions.
This is not necessarily a new dilemma for exceptional students, as home schooling has been an option for many years. However, the solitude of home schooling creates additional problems for those recognizing the importance of social development during adolescence. So the choice has long been to either stay in traditional school and limit extracurricular preparation, or opt for home school and limit adolescent development.
Now there’s a new choice! The 6S Academy has been established to offer the best of both worlds. There is a growing number of legitimate and accredited options for virtual schooling which allow for the flexibility and adjustability to meet the needs of those seeking the highest levels of extracurricular preparation and performance. Our staff helps each family decide on the best curricular program to meets each child’s needs and interests, and then organizes supplemental curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programming around a schedule that works best for each student. Students do not need to study in isolation at home in front of a computer screen; instead, they are able to meet together at one of our locations (before or after practice/training), and receive customized support from our 6S coaches in both academic and personal development.
Given the schedule flexibility of select virtual school programs, our team fills the common voids found in both virtual and traditional school offerings. Utilizing programs from the 6S Institute for Brain & Body Development, students are offered a comprehensive supplemental curriculum designed to promote mental toughness, coping skills, optimism, elite achievement, and genuine happiness.
Each month of the school year, we introduce and reinforce a specific program from the Institute, along with added resources for those with specialized interests*. A sample schedule is as follows:
September: Fit Out
October: Stronger Than Wrong
November: Clutch Student
December: Good at Good
February: Brain Gains
March: Drug Free High
May: Propel to Excel
*For those with unique aspirations, we also offer our specialized support to compliment your training, including: athlete prep (MBX Training & Clutch Athlete), gaming (Complete Ethlete), golf (ForeBrains), etc.
Please contact us for more information on enrollment procedures, tuition, and any other questions that you may have about the 6S Academy Full-School Program.
The 6S Academy After-School Program runs quarterly throughout the school year, with cohorts of students meeting in afternoon or early evening sessions at our facility. The sessions are formulated to offer students a focused environment to gain assistance with current course of studies, along with supplemental enrichment for optimizing academic and extra-curricular achievement, mental well-being, and positive socialization.
Daily classes run for 60 mins, and are scheduled to offer multidimensional support on a variety of topics related to child and adolescent development and human performance from the 6S Institute for Brain & Body Development . A sample schedule is as follows:
Monday: Propel to Excel, Personal 6S
Tuesday: Clutch Student, Brain Gains
Wednesday: ToughMindEd, Stronger Than Wrong
Thursday: Drug Free High, Fit Out
Friday: Good at Good, TeamMindEd
*In addition to scheduled lessons, adjustments and additional support can be customized to best meet the needs of the students in each cohort. For example, Complete Ethlete can be offered if students in a certain cohort are active gamers. Also, for those seeking physical fitness and/or athletic strength and conditioning, MBX Training is offered at each of the facilities as well.
